Deck Primer

I hit 5 weeks in a row undefeated at my locals so wanted to share my list for people tinkering with Numemon.

Etemon/Valk package: the third etemon is so you can still confidently toss one off geremon and still find your pieces mid/late game. In bt-16 format it's crucial to be able to threaten valk ace almost every turn, forces your opponent to switch from aggro to control which works in our favor.

Note: As soon as bt-17 hits valk ace becomes a greater liability than asset.

Chikurimon: Crucial

Chikurimon: Crucial for our 7DL matchup and DeathX. Every deck that can slot it in is by now.

Tamers:

Matt Ishida is my favorite card in the deck. Almost all of our plays need 3 memory to get going, and Matt not only assures this, but his memory off a discard can allow you to interupt on your opponents turn. Being able to steal three memory off a platinum is a huge swing.

Lui: We need all the speed we can get this format. Starting in Bt-17 we'll be prioritizing digimon emporers.

Satsuki: 2 is fine. To be honest her best asset is dropping her on turn 1 instead of a numemon because almost every deck can pop that nume turn 2 before we can get into nume x. Better to assure memory gain and make a more substatial play turn 3.

Tips for getting better at numemon:

  • Don't forget about digivolving in breeding. Don't just hard play your numes to pass turn bc they will get popped.
  • People are ready for etemon shenanigans. It's a powerful card, and valk acing away a field is great, but decks like armor vaccine and gracenova can play around it to their own advantage. Watch out for decks with their own start of main phase effects and decks with dedigi at their disposal.
  • Get your ukkos off the board ASAP. So many decks gain momentum off popping, suspending, and you having a wide board. If you have in your head that you can monzae for 10k next turn if you ukkos can just stick around... they won't. Swing fast and don't get deathx'd.
  • Ruin Mode is a fantastic card that I personally suck with. That's the only reason it's not here.
  • Venusmon's effect is your single best tool against the mirror match. Valk Ace is great, but no one knows how to play around it better than another Nume player.
  • Crane game Geremon is very underrated and sometimes your saving grace vs Looga and Mirage. Get it in your trash ASAP.
