This deck does not conform to the current ban list:

  • Gabumon (BT2-069) is restricted to 1 copy, but this deck contains 4.

Deck Primer

Use yellow level 6s to constantly recover and sec - on your opponents side of the field to effectively shut down their turn while you trash from their deck.

This deck loses speed and consistency due to the mixture of purple and yellow with no bridge but once Apocalymon is out on the field its fairly easy to balance the right lvl 6s in trash to prevent your opponent from ending you on the turn you play Apocalymon as well as removing him from the field. Reboot, blocker, and retaliation on Apocalymon

Reboot, blocker, and retaliation on Apocalymon makes him pretty oppressive on the field but the sec - combined with trashing will do irreparable damage to your opponent. Jijimon and Cherubimon could easily be replaced with cards like phascomon or Raremon to add consistency but jijimon is able to help out early game to get out your tamers while cherubimon late game can prevent your opponent from out right winning by giving your opponents digimon sec - 2 on potentially a whole board.

Chaos degrade is a really good stall card to be able to remove heavy bodies from your opponents board and following up with apocalymon's trash effect to put your opponents in a tight spot. There is definitely an argument to be made for replacing with other option cards to give sec- or recovery but this deck lacks a lot of consistent removal for your opponents field so chaos degarde can be a really good card to combat against your opponent's digimon that pose a bigger threat to your Apocalymon.

Overall the deck is lacking in speed but once its going it is near impossible to beat as you just need Apocalymon on the field for probably 3 turns (not taking into account having multiple on the field) to win via deck out. This version of the deck does rely more on stall and deck out more than other versions, lacking consistent removal for your opponents board, but in testing has proven to be much more oppressive and capable of winning against decks that are able to out Apocalymon fairly consistently due to the constant recovery and security attack shutdown. Decks like melgaX that are extremely fast have a tough time against this deck due to the inability to gain sec+ and having to restart their attack chain after a successful recovery and being heavily effected by the trashing effect due to heavy draw. This deck shines against decks that need time for set up as by the time they are ready to take off you most likely will have dropped an Apocalymon and given their field sec - slowing them down too much to effectively combat a lvl7 with 15k dp, blocker, reboot, and retaliation. Once Apocalymon is on the field, going for security checks can feel very pointless so tamers and options are good ways to pass turn while improving your own board state and still being able to get the end of turn trash. The memory gain from recovery tamers are not necessary and are more used to choke your opponents to as little memory as possible as using them to regain main phase after end of turn phase can a lot of the times leave you with a more costly way of passing turn. I would recommend only using the memory gain for exactly the amount of memory gain you need as many times you will be put in a situation where you have too much memory and just need to pass turn to win. Having multiple Apocalymon on field at 1 time will definitely speed up the trashing process, even with 2 Apocalymon that only have the required 3 lvl6 darkmasters in its materials will activate trashing 12 cards from the top of your opponents deck at end of turn whether you added a lvl6 or not. Even decks the rely on trashing cards from their deck to win,  will struggle from instantly trashing 8 - 16 cards from their deck on one turn and can easily catch them off guard if they are nearing the bottom of their deck and rely on 1 more turn to win. All in all a terrible deck to play against ban Apocalymon.

Edit: added more consistency among the purple base so that you always get value out of hard playing any of your lvl4s incase of rookie brick. Having on on deletion as well as on play from raremon makes them a pretty good way to get out of a brick. T.K. taker to search security for apocalymon or any yellow card you may need. Very possible to brick but due to the nature of the deck sometimes taking a piece you need from your lvl3/lvl4 lineup can help you out early game and because of the constant recovery from both Jijimon and Magnadramon you shouldn't feel the disadvantage to taking a non yellow card. Security boosting T.K. is a fun little tech to play in, sometime increasing a lvl6 in security by 6kDP can out match a lot of decks bigger bodies and having all 4 out makes your lowest dp lvl6 in security an 18k. Not a bad thing to just DP check bodies in security. Purple Kari is to help pass turn before your opponent can get a good play in having 3 on field can outright stop your opponent from swinging some turns just to make sure they can setup for game. Cherubimon is side decked, the blanket effect of Magnadramon is slightly more useful since it doesn't rely on your opponent having digimon on the field. This combats well against decks like blue flare as even if they stun your blocker it'll be hard for them to outswing you even with security adding greymon support. The sec-1 really only falls victim to decks that's gimmick is adding lots of Security like Greymon decks but combining this with the trashing effect should be enough to displace them before they can stack security up that high. Deck needs a little more testing but as of right now this version seems to improve the stall gimmick of the deck while also adding to Apocalymon's core strengths like having High DP gates in security as well as being able to effectively pass turn and cause lasting damage to your opponents field. The purple Karis really give more additive to the stall by providing a way to limit your opponents turn further than trashing their deck and recovering/shutting down their field. Because of Apocalymon's nature of only needing to stay alive for 3ish turns really takes the stalling mechanics of a sec control deck and adds more weight behind it. In a mirror matchup this deck is terrible as it can only out an apocalymon via Chaos Degrade but in a regular matchup this deck really fairs well against a wide array of opponents the same way security control does. Ban Apocalymon.
