Deck Primer

Well I have put it off long enough.  I finally had the time to actually put forth some effort on this one.  Xros Heart is a very difficult deck to build just as it always has been.  It doesn't seem that way at first until you take a look at all of the different cards they have and how they work together.  How do you make such a deck consistent?  It has so many different utility cards to the point where consistency is affected.  How about the aggression?  What ratios

What ratios of Shoutmons should I run?  Which boss Digimon should I focus on?  Is this specific card better than this one?  There is a ton of different options.  Too many even.  That's why I pushed this off for so long.  Xros Heart is a strong deck but there are countless ways of building it.  Even the old versions of the deck are still somewhat viable.  I didn't even have any tournament results to go on for the new stuff either.  With no information I had to get creative somehow.  So I went to work on this build.  It uses a lot of 2 of cards but there is a very good reason for everything I included.  The Digivolved versions of the Digimon can all be played very quickly and be used as alternative cost for Digi-Xros which makes the deck flow better.  I also wanted to keep the versatility that comes with them.  You can recycle them infinitely too so running too many can become a little redundant.  I also was torn between the old and new Xros Heart Digimon.  In the end I went with an aggressive variant that uses a toolbox to adapt to whatever comes its way.  I will likely build the deck upon release.  Depends on pricing though.  But due to the amount of variations the deck has, I can easily swap out the higher rarity stuff with lower rarity cards.  If I do that it might not even reach 20 dollars.  But outside of the whole price thing, the tamers also have me trouble.  What ratios for the tamers?  Which ones should I run?  How many of them?  I was at a loss.  That was until I realised that the triple tamer is a 4 cost and you don't really need its effect.  So I went and added one copy of both of the other tamers.  These two let me play out certain level 4 Digimon for reduced cost while giving me an extra memory or card draw as an added bonus.  Then there was the question on which Digi-Egg I should run.  I opted for the Yellow one due to the lack of option cards in this variant so the lack of a conditional for it was the deciding factor.  I also wanted to include the Shootingstarmon engine because I see a very nasty combo line there.  But only time will tell on if it is even worth using.  That is all for now.  Thank you for reading this all the way through.

The description of the deck explains my logic and reasoning for different choices.  I have not played Xros Heart before so I am inexperienced and I had no help or any information outside of old deck list from Bt 10.  I am aware of the old Shoutmon X4 being restricted which is the only reason why I am running one of them.  If it wasn't restricted then I would build the deck more around that card due to its power.  I also didn't include Shoutmon King Version in the deck despite it being an extremely strong card in the deck.  I couldn't find room for it with the build I was going for.  I would gladly appreciate any feedback on my list.  I want to play the deck especially since it is so cheap to build currently.

I almost forgot to mention this but I actually play with Hunters quite a lot.  So a lot of the mechanics of this deck remind me of it.  But unlike Hunters, this deck has way more options and aggression.  If Hunters were to get more support I would be extremely happy.  Especially since I have all of their cards except the Quartzmon.  Quartzmon didn't age well due to Ace Digimon existing now.  Still a powerful card when used in the right moment.

As for some tech cards I run in my Hunters deck.  I run Mist Memory Boost and two Jack Raid.  This is to help with my decks memory issue.  It runs out of resources quick if they don't get a lot of purple sources underneath their cards to draw a lot of cards.  They lack power as well which is a major problem.  Xros Heart has power but not the same type of consistency as Hunters do.  Perhaps one day they will be melded into one cohesive deck.  But that's not gonna happen for quite a while.

I made further adjustments to the ratios of the deck.  This is because I finally found somebody who has shown competitive results with the deck and I realized just how dangerous the new option card can be.  But I want to keep the versatility the deck has.  I swapped out certain cards to make room for more Raptorsparrowmon and swapped out the old X5 with the new one.  Either one works really but the new one has a nasty combo line with it.  If you want the extra security check use the old one instead.  If you want the recursion from the new one to enable certain Digivolve combos then use the new one.  I prefer the added combos over a single extra security check especially since this deck can do a lot of checks without it anyways.  Also the material save effect on the new one is better suited for the new Xros Heart cards.  I also swapped around the tamers.  I prefer running the 8 tamers over the 10 that the deck list I saw had.  10 feels like it is too much.  Especially since you only need to see one tamer early on.  1/5 of your deck being tamers hurts.  That is why I settled on the 8 I chose.  I kept the one of Dururumon and Ballistamon due to their names and the combos they enable with the new X5.  I am still not completely certain that this build is what I will settle on.  As anybody who has been keeping up with me and my deck list should know by now, I adjust my deck list often.  Especially ones I take interest in such as Dorugoramon, Megidramon, and Composite Pile.  Xros Heart has finally caught my attention so be wary.  Most decks that catch my attention tend to see some sort of competitive play for a while.  Before Purple Hybrid even got released I posted a deck list called Dark Hybrid and I barely changed the deck list at all outside of changing out the high end stuff.  That list probably got a lot of people interested in the deck and got them experimenting.  That could be part of the reason why that deck became popular.  At least that's what I hope happened.  I consider my deck list to be like children to me.  I value them all and I want to see them succeed.  Although I am aware that not all of them will be able to.  I know I am weird but hey that is normal in of itself.

Took out the Shoutmon X7 Superior Mode due to it no longer being needed.
