Deck Primer

This is my updated Seven Great Demon Lord deck.  I did a lot of digging online to see how others approached the deck and came up with this.  I was able to fit in what I wanted as well.  The deck doesn't rely on using Ogudomon as much as it used to.

I would love to hear more thoughts on the deck as I am not really the best when it comes to decks like this.

Im very new to the Digimon tcg, and was wondering ifyou could give a brief breakdown as to how this deck works?

Sorry for the late replay. I never got a notification. The deck is what is called a Mega Zoo deck. These types of decks tend to play out high cost digimon to get some sort of high payoff quickly. Royal Knights, Seven Great Demon Lords, Dark Masters, and Four Sovereigns are the main fkur you will see. Each of them take a different approach. Royal Knights play out a bunch of hard to remove digimon that slow the game down while keeping thejr defenses even higher. SGDL trash a bunch of cards and use each of their differently named SGDL cards to fuel their boss monster Ogudomon. Ogudomon trashes a lot of security but is a high risk play. Dark Masters has two varients due to its history in the game. One is a high speed mill deck that wants to get as many Dark Masters into their trash quickly to fuel the restricted Apocalymon. Sometimes multiple in a turn to heavily impair their opponents ability to play. The other build uses face up security cards to control the game and continue healing. Four Sovereigns is a deck that plays level 5s for their full cost and then get a second one in the raising area for free. Every level 5 threatens an Ace card on their opponents turn if not dealt with. Eventually they go into Fanglongmon which is almost impossible to remove and will clear their opponents board each turn. The common downside to all of these decks is how much memory they give their opponents.

SGDL plays a much more aggressive take on these types of decks. Beelzemon has Rush, Lucemon can trash security and heal you or acts as removal depending on what your opponent does, Lucemon X is passive damage and healing while being hard to remove, Belphemon acts as a wall your opponent has to overcome. Belphemon X deals heavy damage quickly and is extremely useful for the deck now. Beelzemon X trashes security for every ten cards in your trash when evolving on Beelzemon. Leviamon acts as a mass board clear and memory gain while also being best paired with Biting Crush and Lucemon Chaos Mode to punish your opponent for playing by effects and removing Chaos Mode respectively. Creepymon acts as your defensive line as well as removal that trashes a lot of cards from your deck. Gate of Deadly Sins is an extremely important card for your deck. If you play Magic The Gathering then it can be seen as your Commander. Kinda like The Ur Dragon. It reduces the cost of your SGDL digimon. In exchange for the massive cost reduction it gives the deck a little bit of a slow start and will delete your digimon at the start of your turn. They in turn become sacrifices for the gate to further reduce the cost of your digimon. At the end of your opponents turn, once enough sacrifices have been made you can play out an Ogudomon from your trash for free by opening the gate. You will lose out on all of your reductions by doing this though so it should only be done as a finisher. Ogudomon will attempt to trash 7 of your opponents Security. But it will delete as many of your opponents digimon or tamer cards up to a maximum of 7 first. For each card it deleted you reduce the amount of security trashed by 1. Lets say you deleted 2 Digimon, you trash 5 security. The goal is to be able to damage your opponent enough to allow Ogudomon to finish the game then and there. If your opponent does not have anything to be deleted then Ogudomon will finish your opponent off from their starting Security of 5.

Another thing of note is that the deck is very flexible in the way it can be built but the Lucemon cards outside of Lucemon X Antibody are mandatory for almost all builds. They are your major playmakers and engine. Same thing with Rise of the Seven Great Demon Lords. Beelzemon is also typically used as a four off card as well. Leviamon you see a ton but I have seen 2-4 of them on average. The reason I am mentioning this is because SGDL as a deck is one of the games most expensive decks to build. It is also very hard to pilot so if you are a new player I do not recommend the deck. The Chaos Modes go for 40-50 US Dollars per copy. Leviamon fluctuates a lot but it is typically above 15-20 dollars per copy as well. Ogudomon is a secret rare so it is pricy as well although not as much as some other cards in the deck. I have seen 10-20 dollars per copy before.
