  • Agunimon (P-029) is restricted to 1 copy, but this deck contains 2.
Deck Primer

This is my Red Hybrid deck profile.

Through my testing I have often found that I never need the Warp Takuya.  In fact it was actively hurting my deck.  By removing it and adding in more of the piercing Takuya I removed that problem.  This also gave the deck much more memory gain.  I then removed the Emperorgreymon.  Honestly the deck could still use them but it isn't needed as my deck is more built around the lower leveled Digimon now.  I am still torn between the BT

I am still torn between the BT 7 and BT 12 BurningGreymon for the last two slots.  I want to keep the BurningGreymon and Agunimon ratios the same.  I also bumped up the number of the BT 17 Agunimon as well.  12 Level 4 Digimon works nicely in the deck since they can digivolve from the Takuya and the Red Rookies.  Now the deck is able to play more aggressively early on especially with all of the memory gain.  I will likely update the list again after I have done more testing.  And again I am sorry for the continuous updates.  I know I said I wouldn't but here I am again.

Note I made many edits to this build so that it can play at a higher level while staying low to the ground.

I ended up getting most of the cards needed for this deck today.  I am missing a total of 19 cards due to them not being in stock at my local card shop.  The Ancientgreymon were completely sold out so I will have to get them another day.  I am also missing three copies of the Bt 7 Flamemon.  After that is the Bt 7 Takuya and Emperorgreymon.  All of which were sold out.  Regrettably I won't be able to play the deck right away but in time I will be able to play the deck.

Ordered the Ancientgreymon and the remaining Takuya.

I added in the new Bokomon.  The BT 4 Flamemon or the older White Bokomon can work as well.  They all function in the same role.  This deck has a lot of rookies that either search for pieces or draw more cards.  It is really the inheritable and secondary effects that separate them.

I switched out the Emperorgreymon.

The old Blitz one still fulfills the role in the deck but the new one is a lot stronger of a card on its own.  Essentially a secondary mega level for the deck.  Overall I am really liking the new support and will be attempting to get the new Emperorgreymon once it releases. For now I will stick with the current one I have.  The combos are as vicious as ever too.  Burning away almost all of your opponents security on turn two or three and using your effects to prevent your opponent from getting a board in time is quite the effective way to play.  I am also considering the BT 19 Agunimon but I don't want to replace the current one due to the combo it enables.  I might take out two of the Piercing Flamemon for it.  Actually I think I will after posting this.

I adjusted the ratios a little more.

I lowered the number of Bokomon to 3 and lowered the number of Gravity Crush to 3 as well.  This gave room for two copies of Agunimon.  I was working with the ratios in the deck builder until I found something that worked.  Didn't take too long.

Okay big mistake here.

Blitz for game cannot work here.

Unless you already had a second Takuya on board you cannot declare and attack with blitz.  That was a ruling mistake on my part.  The rest of the deck works as mentioned above.

I swapped the Digi-Egg to the DemiMeramon.  It adds more removal to the deck.  Although any red digiegg will get the job done.  This one can help you remove floodgate rookies before your combo starts.

Just in case nobody read the description.

I am sorry for making adjustments after I said I wouldn't.  I realized I made multiple really big deck building errors and had to fix them.  I don't want others to be disappointed when they buy a deck I said was good and failed to make the full use out of them.  I swapped the ratios around and made the deck more memory efficient.

I just got the Bokomon, Aldamon, and Dual Option.  I also got one of the BT 7 BurningGreymon to try out.

I swapped around the ratios on the digi-egg to add in the Koromon egg.  This gives the deck a little more card draw but also keeps the removal from the Demimeramon.  I also removed a single copy of the draw Flamemon to add in the limited Ukkomon.  It might not be needed but it can be of use.  The reason why is because I typically don't evolve my rookies in this deck.  I want to evolve from the tamers.  That is why Ukkomon isn't a bad choice at all.  But I also want to have access to evolving in my raising area more often as well.  That is why I am running more red rookies in the deck.  There will be times where I want to evolve in raising due to certain matchups.  But I want to have the benefits that Ukkomon provides without having to run the other Ukkomon with it.  Ukkomon competes with Bokomon in Hybrid decks which can be a problem.  But when your main game plan doesn't include evolving your rookies then it isn't as much of a problem for the deck.  Also an additional attacker that can provide extra memory can be quite lethal in this deck.  My build isn't based around building a stack like most Red Hybrid list so I play differently than usual.  I also don't run the Secret Rare AncientGreymon.  That isn't due to its price either.  I just don't need it.  I flood the board with a bunch of rookies that I can attack with so the extra security checks don't matter as much.  The digixros mechanic in combination with the option card gives me more room for different combo lines as well.  The Promo Agunimon is an amazing card that I want to run more of but it just isn't needed.  It is more of a win more kind of card in this deck.  But there are a lot of benefits to using it due to its reduced cost.  Sadly it cannot evolve on top of a tamer.  But that doesn't matter when it is such a powerful card without it.  I can easily go into AncientGreymon without passing my turn due to all of the cost reduction and memory gain effects.  This is the same reason why I am not running Offense Training.  I want to dig deeper into my deck for my pieces and all of my Digimon that I can get are much more useful than grabbing a tamer.  The cost reduction also is overkill in the deck due to the fact the deck will go into the negative cost with it.  Therefore wasting the effect.  Anyways, the deck plays extremely low to the ground but has explosive combos.  Play as aggressive as you can early on.  The longer the match last the more likely it is you will lose.  Also be wary of the match up.  If you know your opponents deck typically runs security bombs go for the Aldamon line to get to AncientGreymob to remove the security bombs entirely.  If you cannot get to that line of play in particular then you should attack with your rookies before digivolving your Takuya into a BurningGreymon.  This will give you more safety for your plays.  I learned how to do this the hard way.  By the hard way I mean during testing against my Beelzemon deck.  I actually had all four copies of Rivals Barrage in security.  Good times.
